The Stonewailer

Local. Live. Music. Here.

Here are some of the revenue streams that other blogs/podcasts have employed to keep productive:

Advertising Programs – Perhaps the most obvious idea is to implement viable advertising options for bloggers. I.e., commercial sponsorship of individual podcasts; pod-spots, wherein advertisers are called and the audio is pasted into the podcast?

Sponsorship – There is a growing awareness in the business world of the value and opportunity that exists to advertise directly on blogs. Sponsorship is also happening on a post by post basis with some bloggers being paid to write on certain topics by companies – either in one off or a regular fashion.

Donations – Tip Jars and donation buttons have been a part of blogging for years now but this last year saw a number of bloggers go full time after fund-raising drives.

Subscriptions – I hate this idea, but if you get 50,000 unique, regular visitors each year and you charge $10 for a yearly subscription…?

Right now my intention is to survive by fusing the above categories – Advertising Programs, Sponsorships, and Donations – into one program: Sponsor/Advertisers can donate $25 (an introductory rate) using my Tip Jar in exchange for an immortal audio blurb at the beginning of a podcast, and a click-able graphic in the corresponding blog post.
